Bob Canaway - Chief Marketing Officer, Black Duck Software

Bob Canaway brings more than 15 years of enterprise software experience and marketing leadership to Black Duck Software. Most recently, he was Chief Marketing O cer at Nuxeo, where he helped establish the company as an enterprise open source content management provider and increase its year-over-year sales by 50 percent. Prior to Nuxeo, Bob was Vice President of Marketing at Ektron, a web content and digital experience management provider, where he led a marketing transformation and drove a strategy that addressed a new economic buyer.

 
 

Lawrence Miller - EVP, Global Technology, Symphony Communication Services LLC

Lawrence Miller is an experienced nancial services technology leader with multiple patents and has a strong track record in the industry. A former Managing Director with BlackRock, Lawrence was Global Head of Development Services with the rm’s Aladdin Product Group. He was also a member of Aladdin Product Group’s Executive Committee, and was closely involved in the formation of Symphony Communication Services LLC. Prior to joining Symphony LLC, Lawrence was with BlackRock for 11 years, and JPMorgan Chase for six years.

 

 

Gabriele Columbro - Executive Director, Symphony Software Foundation

Grown in the flourishing open source enterprise ecosystem of the last decade, Gabriele Columbro brings a wealth of expertise on open source communities, enterprise content management and collaboration, application lifecycle management, developer platforms, SaaS and PaaS architectures, both in terms of product and people leadership.

With a Masters thesis on business process re-engineering on a fully open source stack and 10+ years in the tech business in executive, services, sales, engineering and product management roles, he developed a full-spectrum technical and business expertise, in the context of large scale projects for key government and Fortune 500 global customers.

Gabriele's technical leadership and management expertise, in addition to his personable skills allow him to effectively communicate at both technical and executive levels. This plays a key role in the connection between engineering and ecosystem, liaising and working within product management to ensure a closed feedback loop.

Gabriele is also an open source enthusiast, release manager for Apache Chemistry OpenCMIS, blogger and speaker at technical conferences. His main interests include the creation of a sustainable open source product lifecycle & ecosystem to solve common industry problems. 

  

Jono Bacon - Community Manager, Speaker, Author, and Podcaster

Jono Bacon is a leading community manager, speaker, author, and podcaster. He is the founder of Jono Bacon Consulting which provides community strategy/execution, developer workflow, and other services. He also previously served as director of community at GitHub, Canonical, XPRIZE, OpenAdvantage. His clients include Huawei, GitLab, Microsoft, Sony Mobile, Deutsche Bank, HackerOne, Mattermost, SAP, data.world, Creative Commons, and others. He is the author of the critically-acclaimed The Art of Community, is a columnist for Forbes and opensource.com, is the founder of the Community Leadership Summit, and is also a co-founder of the Bad Voltage and LugRadio podcasts. 

 

 Leslie Spiro - Chief Executive Officer, Tick42

Leslie Spiro Tick 42-947686-edited.jpgLeslie Spiro has been responsible for delivering a number of major trading systems and collaborated with Bloomberg on the release of their B-Pipe feed. He was also a co-founder of EasyScreen, a derivatives trading system that floated on the LSE. The market data connection continues with Tick42’s role on OpenMama steering committee, a Linux Foundation hosted open source project where Tick42 produced and maintained the Reuters and Bloomberg OpenMama bridges. His main focus is now on Glue, a product that supports application interop between web, desktop and server components.

Leslie is actively involved in the Symphony Software Foundation Desktop Wrapper Working Group. The Tick42 team is also an active contributor to Foundation open source projects, including their Glue based, Excel RFQ system which delivered a Dealing 2000 like system over Symphony. 

 

Jamie Jones - Federal Solutions Engineer, GitHub

As GitHub’s Government and Regulated Industry Solutions Architect, Jamie Jones works with organizations to improve the way they build software. With more than a decade of experience with the US federal government & regulated customers, he helps teams evolve their development processes through agile transformation, innersource, open source, and leaving subversion behind for good. 

 

 

 

Michael Scannell - API Solution Architect, Symphony Communication Services LLC

Michael Scannell

Michael Scannell is the API Solution Architect at Symphony Communication Services LLC. He focuses on integrations and API development for all global clients. Prior to Symphony LLC, Michael worked at Goldman Sachs for ve years. He started at Goldman Sachs as a web developer in the legal, compliance and auditing group. He went on to product manage the rms strategic web stack. Michael is an electrical engineer and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2012.

 

 

Peter Monks - Vice President of Technology, Symphony Software Foundation

Peter_Monks_VP_Technology_Symphony_Software_Foundation-758123-edited-994171-edited.jpgSince joining the Foundation early on, Peter has had responsibility for the technology strategy of the Symphony Software Foundation, with a particular emphasis on ensuring the successful operation of the open source projects and working groups hosted by the Foundation. Prior to joining, Peter came from a strong content, collaboration, open source, and SaaS background, having worked in one or all of those elds since 2000. Initially a software engineer and technical consultant, Peter transitioned to product management in 2006. Since 2010, he has focused almost exclusively on platforms, with a particular interest in open developer platforms. He was a voting member of the OASIS CMIS Technical Committee (representing Alfresco Software Inc.), and continues to champion open source, open standards, and open governance as the ultimate development model for modern software companies.

 

Maurizio Pillitu - Director of DevOps and Release Management, Symphony Software Foundation

Maurizio Pillitu brings a strong background in application lifecycle management and deployment automation. ASF committer, open source fan/advocate, always keen on contributing to open source software projects.

 

 

 

 

Colin Eberhardt - Technology Director, Scott Logic

Colin Eberhardt is the Technology Director at Scott Logic. When he’s not working on nancial trading applications, he is busy being a prolific technical author, blogger and speaker on a wide range of technologies.

 

 

 

 

Johan Sandersson - Vice President, Platform Product Development, FactSet Research Systems, Inc

Johan Sandersson is responsible for the integration between FactSet products and their clients’ Symphony installations, ensuring a seamless experience with a focus on the user work ow. Johan has been representing FactSet in the Foundation since the start and has a keen interest in the interoperability between users from di erent companies using di erent nancial applications. In addition to working with the Symphony Platform, Johan is responsible for various other collaboration tools within FactSet and was previously working within research management and the products FactSet o ers in that space. Originally from Sweden, Johan joined a startup in London as a software developer. The company built a platform for measuring the value of sell-side services in the nancial community and was ultimately acquired by FactSet in 2005. 

 
Aaron Williamson - General Counsel and Director of Governance, Symphony Software Foundation

Aaron Williamson is General Counsel and Director of Governance at the Symphony Software Foundation. In addition to managing the Foundation’s legal matters, he helps members develop policies that enable productive engagement with open source. Aaron has counseled both commercial software producers and nonpro t foundations on legal issues related to open source software. As counsel for the Software Freedom Law Center, he advised some of the most signi cant open source software foundations. At IEEE, he advised internal clients on open access and open licensing matters. And as a partner at Tor Ekeland P.C., he advised startups and commercial software companies on establishing open source policies, designing open source business models, and license compliance.

 

Paul Teyssier - Vice President of Product, Symphony Communication Services LLC

Paul Teyssier is Vice President of Product for the Symphony Platform. The Symphony Platform allows innovators to make the future of work become a reality, by building or integrating applications inside Symphony, or including Symphony into their own ecosystem. Before Symphony LLC, Paul held multiple product leadership positions at PayPal, in Global Business Product, Americas and Central Europe regions. Paul is a graduate from Ecole Polytechnique, Telecom Paris and INSEAD.
